It's awesome! It's superfast!

Our GoSEMO Fiber project is growing quickly. We have surpassed 2,000 subscribers. It took about a year to build the fiber network. Then last year, we started fiber-fast Internet, HDTV and phone installations. Currently, we have fiber services available to member-owners served by our substations in Advance, Bloomfield, Idalia, Lilbourn, Miner and Tilsit. We are getting closer to connecting Ardeola and Kelly members. That’s eight substations. Eight more to go. We are moving quickly.

We smile when we see other providers’ deals for Internet, TV and phone services. While we respect their game, we smile because you need to read the fine print to fully understand their offers. Most of the pricing packages are for new customers and standard pricing may apply after one year. For member-consumers of SEMO Electric Cooperative, there are no installation fees. No activation fees. Plus, local service with world-class fiber-to-the-home speed with no contracts and unlimited data.

Several evenings a week, I take time to call SEMO Electric’s GoSEMO Fiber subscribers. My question is simple: How’s GoSEMO Fiber working for you? So far, I have called more than 400 homes. Most of the time, the answer is “going great.” Once in a while, subscribers may need help with a TV remote or something odd occurred during the process. The feedback helps us get better. Most often I hear positive comments about interactions with Team SEMO, the professional installation process and how we are changing people’s lives. Here are some of my favorite responses: “The Internet actually works.” “We celebrated as we downloaded our first movie.” “Our cell phones’ batteries are lasting longer because we are now using WiFi calling.” “It’s awesome. We are out here in the sticks and your brought technology to us.” “I wished we would have switched to GoSEMO sooner.” “It’s superfast.” “Thank you for calling.”

We appreciate the support as we continue on our fiber journey and look forward to connecting our 3,000th GoSEMO Fiber subscriber.  We plan to make your life better by keeping the lights on and the fiber flowing. The recent thunderstorms were a reminder that our first job is to keep the lights on. Mother Nature has been busy this summer, but so has Team SEMO.
