Dove Season: Shoot Birds, Not Power or Fiber Lines

Internet Out? Power Out? Spread the word about the seriousness of the illegal hunting by shooting birds off of power and fiber lines. Each blast causes internet outages and costly repairs ($10,000 or more) to the cooperative's membership. Dove season is here. Did you know just one small pellet from a shotgun blast can interrupt your essential services such as electric, internet, TV and phone? There are hundreds of small pellets in every shotgun blast. Tell your family, friends and youngsters not to shoot doves sitting on power or fiber lines! It’s expensive and time consuming to fix the line permanently after a shotgun blast. Plus, you will be upset due to the interruption of your essential services. On behalf of SEMO Electric and GoSEMO Fiber, please be safe and enjoy dove season. Don’t shoot birds off electric and fiber lines.
