Pay-As-You-Go | Take Control with Prepaid Metering
Prepaid Metering allows you to purchase electricity on a pay-as-you-go basis. Meter readings are gathered daily with the use of our automated meters. Once the meter reads it will calculate what you used on the previous day plus any taxes or cost of additional security lights and deduct it from the credit on your account.
How Do I Set Up A Prepaid Account?
Members who sign-up for Prepaid Metering must sign a Prepaid Agreement. The Prepaid Agreement spells out the terms and conditions of participating in the Prepaid Metering Program. You may open a pay-as-you-go account for as little as $25 with no credit check.
How Do I Add Money To My Prepaid Account?
There are several ways you can add credit to your balance.
- Visit our Bloomfield or Sikeston offices Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on normal business days.

What Happens If My Account Gets Disconnected?
When you run out of pre-purchased energy your account will automatically disconnect at 11 a.m. You will need to add more money to your account if this happens. If your service is disconnected, all you need is $25 plus any outstanding balance to reconnect the account.
How Will I Know When My Balance Is Low?
SEMO Electric will send notifications when your credit balance is getting low. You can set up notifications by phone call or through email using the SmartHub app. On the SmartHub app you can view your usage, make payments, and set up any notifications that you should choose.
