April is nationally recognized as Lineworker Appreciation Month, but at SEMO Electric Cooperative, we take it a step further by designating it as Utility Workers Appreciation Month. This recognizes the dedication of every employee—whether in the field, in the office, or behind the scenes—who work together to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable electricity and fiber-fast internet to our member-owners and subscribers.
Team SEMO is committed to making a positive impact—at work, at home, and throughout the communities we serve. While you may see our trucks on the road or interact with our employees at local events, much of our work happens behind the scenes. Continuous training and education ensure that our team stays prepared to meet the highest safety and service standards. Our employees and directors engage in ongoing professional development, operational assessments, and strategic planning to uphold our commitment to accountability and excellence.
We invite you to participate in SEMO Electric Cooperative’s 2025 Annual Meeting, which will be held as a drive-thru event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Grounds. This is a great opportunity to connect with your cooperative and help shape the future of your electric and broadband services—all from the convenience of your vehicle.
I am grateful for the unwavering dedication of Team SEMO—their hard work not only strengthens our cooperative but also makes southeast Missouri a better place to live and work. We look forward to seeing you at the Annual Meeting!
Book of the Month: “The most impactful routines are those that happen as soon as we open our eyes for a new day and right before we close them at the end of one. How you begin your day can positively or negatively affect the rest of it, and how you end your day can positively or negatively affect your sleep.” Take It All Apart by Lindsay Leahy
Be smart. Act safely. Keep pushing forward!
