The Friday Feature w/Sean: Messy Moments Need Real Friends

This week, I thought about a question pastor Teresa asked a couple of weeks ago: Who’s your best friend? ❤️ My father had triple bypass surgery Monday evening. My mother had quadruple bypass surgery last Thanksgiving. Over the past 10 months, I’ve watched them support each other. They laugh. They argue. They tell the same stories again. But it’s clear—they rely on each other.

So who’s your best friend? Who holds your hair?

Who brings you a cold wash cloth?

Who laughs and cries with you?

When things get messy, be that kind of friend. Not the fixer. Not the judge. Just the one who shows up.

And a special shout-out: Happy Birthday to Larry, my best friend’s dad. As he says, “it’s a good day to have a good day!”
