The Friday Feature w/Sean: Choose To Push Forward
You think you had a bad day? Keep pushing forward. Week 312 of The Friday Feature. SSG Travis Mills will tell you the most important thing about him is not that he is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive. He wants to be known first as a husband and a dad.
On April 10, 2012, during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device exploded during a routine patrol. The blast took portions of all four of his limbs.
Recovery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center lasted months, but family made the difference. His wife Kelsey and daughter Chloe spent 19 months by his side, along with other veterans and families working to rebuild their lives.
Through it all, Travis lived his mantra: “Never give up. Never quit.”
That mindset led to the creation of the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat in Maine, where injured veterans and their families reconnect, heal, and recharge together.
If his story moves you, consider making a donation to help other veterans. Debbie and I will match the first $312 given to the Travis Mills Foundation.
Thanks for watching and sharing week 312 of The Friday Feature. Keep Pushing Forward and I will see you next Friday.
