Campers Learn About Co-op

SEMO Electric Cooperative and GoSEMO Fiber recently hosted Camp SEMO, a unique behind-the-scenes experience for Sarah Wilkerson of Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AECI) and Team SEMO employees Sam Bowling, Savannah Burchard, and Christina Holland.

Camp SEMO is a dynamic, two-day, hands-on program designed to give participants an in-depth understanding of the teamwork, coordination, and dedication required to deliver safe, reliable electric service and fiber-fast broadband across rural southeast Missouri.

Throughout the experience, participants explored nearly every aspect of the cooperative’s operations, including member and subscriber services, engineering, system mapping, metering, dispatch, fiber operations, accounting and billing, construction, materials management, fleet operations, vegetation management, and communications. By experiencing each department firsthand, participants gained a deeper appreciation for how every employee plays a vital role in serving members and subscribers. Camp SEMO strengthens collaboration, builds relationships across organizations, and reinforces the cooperative commitment to delivering exceptional service every day.
