✅ Welcome to Week #230 of The Friday Feature – Special Blessings. Here’s a thought: The next time August 16 falls on a Friday will be in six years—2030! But today, I want to take a moment to reflect on a blessing that touched our lives thirty-five years ago. On this very day, God blessed us with a baby girl who now lives nearly 2,000 miles away. One of the sweetest moments I get to experience each year is the joy of her big bear hug.

If you’re fortunate enough to have children, a niece or nephew, a Godchild, or even a special child in your neighborhood, you understand this deep truth: no matter how much they grow, they will always be that little one in your eyes. We watch them evolve, chase their dreams, and make their mark on the world, but the love in our hearts remains steadfastly parental.

Take a moment today to reach out to someone you care about—whether it’s a child, sibling, or friend. Let them know how much they mean to you. Life is short, and those chances to connect are precious. Keep pushing forward and always lead with your heart.

We’ve had the honor of watching our daughter’s journey—from a little girl playing with animals and soccer, to embarking on mission trips, to becoming a college graduate, a nurse, a wife, a big sister, and now a remarkable mother. Each chapter in her life has been a beautiful testament to her spirit, strength, and heart.

So today, we celebrate you, Amanda. Happy Birthday! We love you more than words can capture. Though the miles separate us, always remember our special saying: “Never fear, Father’s near.” Call or text anytime. After all, it’s just a four-hour flight.
