The Friday Feature w/Sean: The Lesson That Changed Me
✅ The World Cup has reminded me of a lesson that has very little to do with soccer… and everything to do with life. Week 329 of The Friday Feature.
Nearly 30 years ago, I decided to learn the game. I went to coaching school, earned my coaching licenses, and spent the next many years coaching youth soccer.
One lesson from that training has stayed with me ever since. It’s called the SAID Principle: Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demands. In other words, we adapt to what’s in front of us.
Our instructor asked, “What if all you have is a 10-by-10 field? Can you still teach?” The answer was simple. Figure it out.
Life is a lot like that. We spend too much time wishing for a bigger field—more money, more time, better health, more opportunities. But most of life isn’t lived on the field we wish we had. It’s lived on the field we’re standing on.
🤔 Sometimes all you’ve got is baler twine, a pair of pliers, and a roll of duct tape. Be creative. Use what you’ve got. Sometimes that’s all you need.
Thanks for watching and sharing Week 329 of The Friday Feature. Every Friday since March 27, 2020, I’ve shared a story to encourage, inspire, and remind us that some of life’s greatest lessons come from everyday moments. Thank you for being part of this journey and for sharing these messages with others.
If you’d like more stories like this, my book, Change Me. Bless Them., is available on Amazon. Through real stories and practical lessons, it reminds us that lasting change begins by looking inward before pointing outward. Order book: https://a.co/d/03YjNwah
Keep Pushing Forward, and I will see you next Friday.
