The Friday Feature w/Sean: Chasing Peace

✅ Welcome to Week #227 of The Friday Feature – Chasing Peace. This week I witnessed a story that deeply resonated with me. At 45, she needed a change. She searched, applied, interviewed—both over the phone and in person—and even job shadowed. After careful consideration, she accepted a new job. Yet, less than two weeks later, she decided it wasn’t the right fit. She liked the organization, but not the duties. When I asked why, she simply said, “At my age, I am chasing peace.”

I admired her courage. Walking away from a job, especially when you need to provide for your family, is never easy. Her story reminded me of my own experience in 1992 when I accepted a leadership position with a new company. On my first day, I arrived before 8 a.m., but by noon, I packed up my belongings, including a photo of our three-year-old daughter, and left. Something felt off. Without another job lined up, I swallowed my pride and stopped by the company where I had worked as a warehouseman from 1987 to 1989. The next day, I started at 8 a.m. and have never looked back. It took courage, but forcing a star into a round hole rarely works.

Chasing peace often requires us to make difficult decisions and take bold steps, even when the future is uncertain. It’s about recognizing when something isn’t right for us and having the bravery to walk away in search of what truly brings us contentment. I would, however, advise to never leave a job before you have accepted a new one. This week, reflect on your own life and consider where you might need to make changes to find your peace. Remember, it’s never too late to pursue a path that aligns with your true self. Have the courage to chase peace.

#keeppushingforward and #leadwithyourheart. We will see you next Friday for another #TheFridayFeature.

Thank you Rick Bormaster for giving me a job when I didn’t have one. Looking back, I am not sure you even had a open position. Brent Bormaster your dad and mom changed our lives.
